Murder of "Parrot" in Glyfada: Execution-style killing with ambush

Execution in Glyfada: Eight bullets ended the life of "Parrot"

Eight shots and a premeditated death ambush cost the life of the 52-year-old known as "Parrot", who fell dead on his motorcycle in Glyfada. According to In.gr, the murder bears the hallmarks of a Mafia-style settling of accounts.

Shortly before 02:00 in the early morning hours, one or more perpetrators waited for him at the intersection of Karamanli and Panagouli streets, near the Golf course. They shot him from behind in the body and head whilst he was still on his motorcycle. Police officers from the Greek equivalent of the FBI subsequently found eight bullet casings at the site of the ambush.

The fact that the victim was not armed at the time of the attack suggests, according to police assessments, complete surprise. "The only thing certain is that they wanted him dead, because they shot him in the head too," police sources report. Experienced officers estimate that the perpetrators knew exactly his movements, knew which nighttime establishments on the seafront he worked at, and chose the right moment to set up the ambush.

Criminal history and connections to organised crime

The 52-year-old "Parrot" had an extensive criminal record. For years he moved in the circles of organised Panathinaikos supporters and worked as personal security in nighttime establishments.

In 2015 he was arrested by the Extortion Department as a member of one of three groups operating in Attica who were extorting shop owners. The leader of that organisation was Giorgos Moschouri, known in organised crime circles as "Thamnakias" — the same man who in April 2025 fell dead from 54 Kalashnikov bullets outside a private clinic in Chalandri. Moschouri is estimated to have controlled 70 per cent of shops in Attica and Mykonos, whilst also operating in cigarette smuggling.

In April 2018 the victim had been identified as the perpetrator of an attack on a Panathinaikos supporter shortly before a Euroleague match. In September 2021 he was arrested for shooting outside a Panathinaikos association on Alexandras Avenue. In July 2024 his name appeared again in a case file for incidents outside the stadium on Alexandras Avenue, where two people were injured by gunshots and another was hospitalised following a beating. At the time of his murder he was out of prison with restrictive conditions due to a domestic violence case.

Investigation into contract killing

Police authorities are analysing material from security cameras in order to trace the escape route of the perpetrators. At the same time, they are investigating who gave the order for the execution and whether there is a contract killing behind the incident. The centre of the investigation includes both the criminal history of the 52-year-old and his most recent activities.
