Murder of Nestor: Two defendants request adjournment – Physical perpetrators to appear tomorrow
Four defendants in the firebombing attack that cost the life of Vagia Nestor were called for supplementary statements in Thessaloniki.

Nestor case: Two defendants request 15-day adjournment in Thessaloniki
Two of the four defendants charged with the fatal firebombing attack on the Nestor family home were transferred to Thessaloniki courts under strict security measures this morning and requested an adjournment to submit supplementary statements within the next 15 days, according to Dikastiko.gr.
These are the 24-year-old owner of the flat which, according to the case file, was used both before and after the attack, and the 25-year-old identified by the former as the recipient of the flat's keys. In their initial statements following arrest, both denied any involvement in the events.
Physical perpetrators to appear tomorrow
On Friday, the two defendants allegedly responsible as physical perpetrators of the attack are expected to be brought before the same investigating judge: the 29-year-old and the 26-year-old. Thus, within a period of two days, all four defendants will have been called for supplementary statements, approximately two and a half months after their remand in custody.
Upgrade under terrorism law
The procedure of supplementary statements is linked to the upgrade of the criminal assessment of the acts in light of the terrorism law, which provides for a stricter sentencing framework. The Thessaloniki district prosecutor has brought charges against all four for manslaughter with possible intent, participation in a terrorist organisation, explosion, possession of explosives, and arson.
The attack that cost Vagia Nestor's life
The victim of the firebombing attack with petrol bombs was Vagia Nestor, mother of New Democracy's candidate MP Aphrodite Nestor. The attack on the family home was one of three coordinated arson attacks carried out in the early morning hours of 1 July in Thessaloniki.
The same case file also includes two further firebombing attacks carried out the same night: at the home of Zisis Ioannikimidis, chairman of the New Democracy Governing Committee in Thessaloniki, and at the residence of former MP Savvas Anastasiadis. For these attacks, investigations by the Counter-Terrorism Service are ongoing with the aim of identifying any additional persons involved.
