Murder in Kallithea: Perpetrator and victim supporters of the same team – What authorities are investigating

A significant development has emerged in the homicide case that occurred on Wednesday night in Kallithea, with a 15.5-year-old resident of Dionysus as the victim. According to the Hellenic Police, the perpetrator and the victim belonged to the same team.

The incident unfolded shortly before midnight on Megaloupolis Street, when a group of 14 young people became involved in a scuffle. The minor was struck with a blade in the chest and was transported by ambulance to Hippocrates Hospital, where he died.

From the preliminary investigation, it emerged that all those involved, except for one, were supporters of the same team. This leads authorities to investigate other motives behind the crime, as the possibility of a fan-related clash is ruled out.

The perpetrator was arrested at his home, where he had returned after the incident and was reportedly asleep. His mother was the one who opened the door to the police officers. He admitted to the act and claimed that he had thrown the knife into a rubbish bin.

A knife, a screwdriver, and a sweatshirt were found at the scene of the scuffle. Authorities are carrying out house searches and are seeking video footage for the complete clarification of the case.
