Pursuit with stolen taxi in Kamatero — two minors arrested

Two minors, aged 16 and 14, were arrested during the night of Sunday, 4 October in Kamatero, following a pursuit involving a taxi that had been reported as stolen, according to reports by In.gr.

At approximately 23:30, a patrol car of the Immediate Action unit spotted the vehicle at the intersection of Neochoríou and Dendrochoríou streets. The taxi had been reported stolen earlier that same day at the Ilia Security Department.

Police officers signalled the driver to stop, but he refused to comply and accelerated, resulting in a pursuit being initiated. At the intersection of Záymy and Pergamou streets, the taxi struck a power distribution pole and came to a halt.

Four people who were in the vehicle attempted to flee on foot. Officers from the DIAS unit located and arrested two of them: a 16-year-old and a 14-year-old.

The two minors were taken to the Kamatero Security Department. A case file was filed against them for disobedience, theft by complicity, and failure to carry an identity card. The other two passengers remain subject to a search.

No injuries were reported from the incident. The taxi was seized by the authorities.
