Igoumenitsa: 29-year-old arrested for attempted murder – 24-year-old in critical condition
A 24-year-old woman is hospitalised in critical condition at the University General Hospital of Ioannina following an incident with her partner. The 29-year-old was arrested for attempted murder.

According to Naftemporiki, a 24-year-old woman is hospitalised in critical condition at the University General Hospital of Ioannina, following an incident with her 29-year-old partner in Igoumenitsa during the early morning hours of Tuesday.
According to a police statement, the couple had argued earlier. Subsequently, the man started his vehicle while the woman was on the bonnet. He continued driving, resulting in the woman falling and sustaining serious injuries.
The 29-year-old called the emergency services (100) himself to report the incident. The injured woman was initially transferred to Filiates Hospital and subsequently transported to the University General Hospital of Ioannina, where she is hospitalised in critical condition.
Following a breathalyser test conducted by the authorities, it was established that the 29-year-old was driving under the influence of alcohol. The man was arrested on Tuesday morning by police officers from the Prosecution and Investigation of Crimes Division of Igoumenitsa.
A case file was opened against him for attempted murder of his partner, as well as for violation of the Road Traffic Code. The arrested man is expected to be brought before the Prosecutor of the First Instance Court of Thesprotia.
