The Counter-Terrorism Service is investigating a triple arson attack on an apartment building in Thessaloniki, where residents were injured.

Three explosive devices were placed early Thursday morning outside an apartment building on Kimon Voga Street in Thessaloniki, causing material damage and injuring residents. The investigation by the Counter-Terrorism Service is ongoing.
According to information from ERT, authorities have security camera footage in which the movements of a person who likely participated in the attack are depicted. The suspect's face is covered, however footage records them placing the explosive device outside the apartment of former MP Savva Anastasiades and departing the scene.
In parallel, police are examining insulating tape used to place the explosives in order to identify genetic material or fingerprints. They are also investigating lists of people who have been involved in similar activities in the past, with the possibility of new individuals' involvement not being ruled out.
Two residents of the apartment building were injured by the explosion. Aphrodite Nestora is hospitalised in the Burns Unit of Papanikolaou Hospital with burns to her hands and feet, in a stable condition. Another resident was transferred to the Hippocratic Hospital with respiratory problems and subsequently to the Cardiology ward, where she remains as a precaution.
Restoration work on the apartment building began yesterday, however problems have been identified up to the sixth floor due to smoke.
