Case file for abuse of minor: lawyer at Alimos police station following evening complaint
The Alimos Domestic Violence Response Office has opened a case file against a prominent lawyer following a complaint of assault against his minor son, according to information reported by Dikastiko.gr.
The complaint was filed on Tuesday evening via email. According to the same sources, the text of the complaint referred to video in which the lawyer is alleged to have exercised verbal and physical violence against the child during an incident that took place on the afternoon of the same day.
Flagrante delicto proceedings and refusal to cooperate with police
Following the submission of the complaint, a case file was opened ex officio and the police authorities proceeded within the flagrante delicto procedure to locate the lawyer. Police officers went to his residence in Voula, where he is reported to have refused to open the door, according to police sources.
Due to his refusal, the authorities requested the assistance of a prosecutor so that the prescribed legal procedure would be followed.
Transfer to Alimos police station in early morning hours
In the early morning hours of Wednesday, the lawyer left his residence and was transferred to Alimos Police Station. At the same time, with a prosecutor present, an investigation began at the home as part of the inquiry into the case.
The lawyer was subsequently released on the orders of a prosecutor, due to his professional status.
Examination of audiovisual material pending
The case is now in the hands of the competent authorities. The video that is alleged to accompany the complaint and which prompted the initiation of the criminal proceedings is expected to be examined.
