Police officers from the General Regional Police Directorate of Epirus carried out sixteen arrests of men and women during the previous fortnight, as part of checks aimed at curbing the trafficking of psychotropic substances.

Police officers from the General Regional Police Directorate of Epirus carried out sixteen arrests of men and women during the previous fortnight. The operations are part of routine checks aimed at curbing the trafficking of psychotropic substances in the wider region.
The arrested individuals were found in three prefectures. In Arta, five Greek citizens were detained. In Ioannina, authorities placed eight people of domestic origin into custody, including one minor. In Preveza, three others were arrested, two Greeks and one national of another state.
From the investigations, small quantities of cannabis, cocaine and medicinal tablets with psychoactive effects were seized. The findings led to the drawing up of corresponding case files which were forwarded to the prosecutorial authorities for further handling.
