In the early hours in the northern part of Thessaloniki, unknown perpetrators attacked with improvised explosive devices constructed from gas cylinders against the residences of three members of the ruling party "New Democracy". One person lost their life in the attack, while four other people were injured.

According to information cited by the website Kathimerini, among the injured are the parents of former party candidate Aphrodite Nestos, who were taken to hospital for treatment. The two additional targets of the attack were the chairman of the party's executive committee Zisis Ioakeiminovits and former member of parliament Savvas Anastasiadis.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, leader of "New Democracy", expressed "outrage and anger" at the incident, characterising it as "a shameful, terrorist and murderous attack".
