A 53-year-old taxi driver was attacked by a father and son on the morning outside Taxiarchs Cemetery in Nea Ionia, Volos, suffering serious injury to his hand. The incident was reported by Dikastiko.gr.
According to information, the attack occurred after the driver refused to pick up the 25-year-old son in his taxi. The young man reacted immediately: he began threatening the 53-year-old and then grabbed a broomstick from the location and struck him, according to gegonota.news.
The 25-year-old's father also participated in the incident. The two men warned the driver not to file a complaint and quickly left the scene.
The 53-year-old was taken to hospital, where a fracture to his wrist from the broomstick strike was confirmed. After receiving initial treatment, he returned late in the evening to the police station to file a complaint.
He was accompanied in filing the complaint by the President of the Association of Taxi Owners of Volos "St Christopher", Evdokimos Paschalidis. Outside the police station, dozens of the victim's colleagues gathered with their taxis in a show of solidarity.
According to the same information, the father and son are known for disruptive behaviour and have caused incidents in the past.
