A 41-year-old man of foreign nationality is in the custody of authorities following a violent incident in Argostoli. The suspect is alleged to have broken into a house where a 26-year-old man was living, stolen money and then attacked the resident, injuring him with a shard of glass.
The incident occurred in the afternoon hours of Wednesday, 27 June. According to information from the investigation, the perpetrator took the sum of 60 euros from the victim before proceeding to cause bodily harm.
Officers from the local Crime Investigation and Detection Unit managed to locate and apprehend the suspect within a short period of time. During the investigation, authorities located and seized the object that was used as a weapon.
The arrested man faces grave charges, including robbery and attempted murder. He was brought before the competent prosecutor to give his statement.
