Driver attacks woman in Ilion – 30-year-old transferred to psychiatric hospital

A 30-year-old man allegedly attacked a mother who was driving in Ilion, striking her in the face in front of her minor child. The incident occurred in the afternoon of Tuesday, 9 June on a narrow road at the border with Kámateró.

According to Newsbeast, two vehicles met at a narrow point and neither driver reversed. The 30-year-old exited his vehicle and began shouting at the woman. The situation escalated quickly and the man approached the woman's car, striking her in the face. After the attack, he got back into his vehicle and drove away.

Police officers from the Ilion police station located the perpetrator at his home on the morning of Wednesday. During his arrest, it was established that he was experiencing psychological problems. Following a prosecutor's order, he underwent a psychiatric examination and hospitalisation at the Attica Psychiatric Hospital in Daphní was deemed necessary.
