Attack on kindergarten headteacher in Ano Liossia: father admits to two slaps
The father of a 4-year-old girl admitted to MEGA that he struck the headteacher of a kindergarten in Ano Liossia, attributing his actions to "losing his temper".

The father of the 4-year-old student admitted that he entered the kindergarten in Ano Liossia and struck the headteacher, according to Newsit.gr. Speaking to MEGA, he described the moment of the attack: "I was so angry with the teacher that I went in and yes, I hit her, I gave her two slaps".
This statement contradicts what he had said earlier to newsit.gr, when he claimed he simply pushed her: "I pushed the teacher a bit and she fell down. That's it. I don't know if my wife hit her. My wife might have hit her with a slap too".
The father also complained about the way the authorities responded following the incident. "The police took my 4-year-old daughter to the station without her mother being present. They took a statement from her without anyone in front of her," he said.
Video of the attack
Meanwhile, video footage of the incident emerged, which was reportedly recorded on the teacher's own mobile phone. In the footage, which begins after tension has already started, the headteacher is seen bent over on the ground trying to protect herself, whilst a man in a white shirt hits her on the head. The teacher is heard shouting "help", and in another part responds to the parent: "Yes, you are hitting".
In the video, the man demands explanations about the way the teacher had, as he claims, spoken to his child.
The previous video that triggered the case
The incident began to take on major dimensions from Monday 28 September, following another video from inside the kindergarten. In it, the headteacher is heard addressing small children in a harsh tone: "if you break anything from the school, you've had it, your hands! You've made a mess of it, shame on you!".
The case provoked strong reactions. Both the teacher's behaviour inside the classroom and the attack she subsequently suffered are at the centre of the investigation.
