According to Google News GR — Crime (el), a 58-year-old property landlord in a village of Heraklion Municipality was arrested following a complaint filed by the mother of two minor children, aged 8 and 11 years old.
The man allegedly broke into the house while the mother was absent, annoyed by the noise of the children. According to information from cretalive.gr, he attacked the 8-year-old in the presence of his older brother, aged 11 — he struck the child in the face and attempted to suffocate him with a pillow.
Initially the case concerned bodily injury and disturbance of the peace, however criminal prosecution was ultimately brought against the 58-year-old for attempted murder with premeditation in a calm state of mind, as well as for threats and insults on multiple occasions against minors.
The arrested man was given a deadline to enter his defence on Friday.
