Heraklion: 58-year-old arrested for attempted murder of 8-year-old child
A 58-year-old is accused of attacking an 8-year-old child in a house he was renting to the family. He faces criminal prosecution for attempted wilful murder.
58-year-old arrested for pillow attack on 8-year-old in Heraklion village
According to skai.gr, a shocking incident occurred in a village in the Municipality of Heraklion when a 58-year-old landlord is accused of attacking the 8-year-old child of the family he was hosting in his property.
According to information from cretalive.gr, the 58-year-old, annoyed by the noise of the children, allegedly entered the house while the mother was absent. There, in the presence of the older brother aged 11, he hit the 8-year-old in the face and is accused of attempting to suffocate him with a pillow.
Initially the case file concerned bodily injury and disturbance of the peace, however ultimately criminal prosecution was brought for attempted wilful murder against the 8-year-old.
In total, the charges faced by the arrested man are: attempted murder with intent in a calm mental state, threats and insults in series against minors. The defendant was given a deadline to present his defence on Friday.
