As part of a special operation to counter substance trafficking, police forces in Heraklion proceeded to arrest two individuals.

The operation was set up following information that was utilised by the Drug Prosecution Department of the local sub-directorate. Officers from the competent service participated, reinforced by the Motorcycle Unit of the Immediate Action Department.

During the checks, authorities located one suspect in an area of Heraklion municipality while he was delivering illegal substances to the second person. This was followed by immobilisation and arrest of both individuals.

In searches conducted on the vehicles of those arrested and at a residence in an area of the Archanes-Asterousia municipality, authorities found and confiscated 152.1 grammes of cocaine, cash in the amount of 6,000 euros, one electronic scale and three mobile telephones. Additionally, two saloon cars and one motorcycle were seized, which were being used for the transport and distribution of drugs.

The investigation into the case is being conducted by the Drug Prosecution Department of Heraklion.
