A police operation at a residence in Attica brought to light a significant quantity of illegal weapons and narcotics, according to an official announcement by the Costal Guard.

In the afternoon of the previous day, officers from the drugs-fighting unit and the security office of the Piraeus Port Authority's central headquarters, reinforced by a specialist raid team and a detection dog, conducted a search of a house in the wider area. The operation took place following a prosecutorial order and was based on evidence that had been gathered from previous investigations.

Inside the house, the authorities found and seized a pistol, cartridges, a sword, an electro-shock device (TASER) and a quantity of cannabis.

As part of the case, the prosecutorial authorities are seeking a Greek suspect perpetrator, against whom a case file is being compiled for violations of the laws governing narcotics and weapons.

The preliminary investigation into the case is being conducted by the Piraeus Central Port Authority.
