Dismantling of criminal organisation of supporters in Attica – 10 arrests

Ten arrests of supporters for drug trafficking, extortion and supporter violence in Western Attica

The Organised Crime Confrontation Directorate of the Hellenic Police dismantled a criminal organisation composed of organised supporters of an Athenian sports club, according to Google News GR — Crime. The operation was carried out on the morning of Wednesday, 1 July in areas of Western Attica and Corinthia.

During the investigation, ten members of the organisation were arrested, whilst a further 29 identified individuals were included in the case file. Among these were seven parents of minors, who face charges of neglect of supervision.

Structured organisation with hierarchy and leadership

From the months-long investigation by the Organised Sports Violence Confrontation Sub-Directorate, it emerged that the organisation had been active since at least August 2025. It operated with distinct roles and individuals who exercised guiding influence, with characteristics of a structured criminal group.

A supporters' association space was used as a "headquarters", from which attacks on supporters of other clubs are alleged to have been planned and carried out. In these attacks, wooden poles, metal rods, metal objects, hammers, flares and torches were used, according to the Hellenic Police.

To date, eight cases of organised supporter violence have been solved, including clashes, attacks following football matches, robbery assault and two targeted attacks motivated by supporter identity.

Separate drug distribution unit

In parallel with supporter activity, members of the organisation had established a separate drug distribution group. The group is alleged to have distributed cocaine, raw cannabis, pink cocaine and ecstasy in Attica and other areas of the country.

The narcotics were channelled to entertainment venues, private gatherings, sports facilities, as well as educational units and a detention facility, according to the authorities. In order to collect debts from drug distribution, members of the group are alleged to have resorted to threats, extortion, violence and arson.

Searches at 14 residences and association

Police conducted searches at 14 residences, at a supporters' association space and at vehicles, resulting in the seizure of a number of items. The findings are part of the investigation into supporter violence, drug trafficking and other illegal activities attributed to the organisation.

Separate case file for 14 June attack

In the context of the same investigation, an organised attack that took place on 14 June 2026 against a member of the criminal organisation was also solved. According to the Hellenic Police, this individual was attacked with supporter motivation by organised supporters of another club.

Four individuals were identified in connection with this case, against whom a separate case file was formed for criminal organisation, dangerous bodily harm, robbery, breaches of sports legislation and weapons legislation. The arrested individuals were taken before the competent prosecuting authority.
