A large-scale police operation against organised crime has been underway in Mykonos since early this morning. The operation is aimed at dismantling a network that was distributing illegal substances on the island. Strong police forces are participating in the operation.
So far, authorities have arrested five people. During searches carried out, various illegal substances were located and seized, including cocaine, ketamine, methamphetamine, Ecstasy tablets and raw cannabis.
According to information made public by the Hellenic Police, the leader of the group is an Albanian citizen who owns a transport company in Mykonos. In connection with the same case, his wife, a Romanian citizen, was also arrested.
Among those arrested are also two Greek drivers from the transport company and another Greek man, who is alleged to have had a role as an accomplice. In addition, a woman was arrested in the capital, the wife of one of the arrested individuals, and quantities of narcotics were found at her home.
