Drug trafficking network dismantled in Attica and Mykonos
Five members of a criminal group and a 31-year-old woman were arrested for trafficking in cocaine, MDMA, cannabis and other substances. Authorities discovered hiding places in Mykonos, Piraeus and Perama.
Drug trafficking network dismantled in Attica and Mykonos
Officers from the Special Operations Teams of the Department of Information and Special Operations carried out arrests last Wednesday. A total of five people were apprehended as members of an organised criminal network, along with a 31-year-old woman charged with possession of substances.
Evidence from the investigation shows that the group operated as a structured criminal network at least from mid-April. Its purpose was to traffic various narcotics in Mykonos and Attica, with the goal of unlawful profit.
Investigations were conducted at homes and at locations where the substances were hidden, in Mykonos, Piraeus and Perama. Significant quantities of narcotics were seized.
According to a statement from the authorities, selling prices varied depending on the product. Based on the money and quantities seized to date, it is estimated that the network had obtained more than €700,000.
Two of those arrested have previous involvement with the judicial system. All were brought before the prosecutor.
