Police officers from the Organised Crime Directorate have succeeded in breaking up a criminal group that was trafficking illegal substances in Mykonos and Attica. As part of the operation, five people and a 31-year-old woman were arrested.
The authorities had conducted surveillance of the suspects and had recorded conversations that reveal the manner in which the network operated. In one of the audio documents, the group leader asks the trafficker whether he had delivered the drugs to a customer, and an intense conversation follows about who will go to the meeting and how the transaction will take place.
The trafficker reports that the customer requested six grammes, and they subsequently discuss whether they will provide him with other substances as well. The leader becomes frustrated and emphasises that they are not "slaves" but "dealers", while pointing out to him that the customer does not work but simply takes from another and gives to his friends.
At another point in the conversation, the trafficker describes how he transported the drugs and reports that he was loaded, whilst the leader gives him instructions on how he will behave towards the customer. The two men also discuss whether they will go to a specific location near the airport to deliver the order.
The arrested individuals were brought before the prosecutor, whilst investigations continue to establish whether there are any other people involved in the network. The drugs that were seized will be sent for analysis to the forensic laboratory.
