Family-run drug-trafficking network dismantled in Chalandri
A police operation involving a detection dog led to the arrest of six people in the wider Attica region, including a 25-year-old who is presented as the head of the group. The operation took place on 29 June at a residence in Chalandri.
The arrested individuals, aged from 19 to 62 years old, are alleged to have organised a drug trafficking network since May of last year. The young alleged leader appears to have directed the activities of the others, determining how the network operated.
The flat functioned as a hiding place for illegal substances. Transactions took place either within the property or via vehicles belonging to family members. Drugs were delivered to specific locations using an indirect contact method, avoiding face-to-face meetings with customers.
Authorities seized approximately 730 grams of cannabis in various forms, 30 tablets, a digital scale, 600 euros in cash, two air pistols, magazines, knives, five mobile phones and equipment for packaging and distributing the substances.
The six were brought before a prosecutor facing charges including participation in a criminal organisation, drug trafficking, illegal possession of weapons and money laundering from illegal activities.
