A police operation was carried out at Agios Stefanos Prison in Patras, aimed at combating the trafficking and possession of psychotropic substances within the correctional facility. A large team of police officers participated in the operation, accompanied by prison staff and a prosecutor.
The searches were conducted late last night in detainee cells. During the inspections, quantities of various substances were discovered, including methamphetamine, synthetic cannabis and pills.
Six arrests resulted from the operation. Five of those arrested are foreigners and one is Greek. The charges brought against them concern three cases of trafficking, two cases of drug possession and one case of possession of a mobile telephone.
The arrested individuals are expected to be brought before the competent prosecutor for criminal prosecution.
