An Iranian national has been apprehended by officers of the Rafina Central Port Authority, who is accused of systematic involvement in drug trafficking. The arrest was made in the early hours of Sunday, following the utilisation of information that was available to the authorities.
Officials from the Port Authority's Regional Drug Prosecution Team, together with the trained detection dog "Rambo" and members of the Piraeus Special Operations Unit, conducted a raid on the suspect's residence in an area of Athens. The operation was carried out in the presence of a judicial officer.
During the subsequent search, hidden narcotics were discovered inside the house. The value of the confiscated crystal methamphetamine is estimated at €6,540.
The Eleusis Central Port Authority has undertaken the preliminary investigation into the case.
