Life sentence for murder of Polish professor in Agia Paraskevi
Athens Mixed Jury Court has imposed a life sentence on the 35-year-old who executed Polish professor Przemisław Gęziorski in Agia Paraskevi, according to reports from Dikastiko.gr. The crime was committed on the afternoon of 4 July 2025 on Eirinis Street, minutes before the professor was to collect his two underage children.
The motive: custody disputes and financial outstanding matters
The driving force behind the murder appears to have been unresolved differences between the former spouses regarding custody of the children and outstanding financial matters concerning joint companies in the United States. According to the investigation, the 43-year-old former wife had lost a court ruling that allowed Gęziorski to travel abroad with the children. Subsequently, she plotted the murder together with her 35-year-old partner.
The network of accomplices
The 35-year-old perpetrator is said to have communicated with a Bulgarian in Nafplio, who put him in contact with two Albanians. The latter undertook to facilitate the transfer, the escape and the creation of a false alibi, in exchange for a fee of 1,500 to 2,000 euros. Later, the same accomplices attempted to extort the perpetrator by demanding between 40,000 and 50,000 euros.
The execution and the escape
The 35-year-old first tracked the victim in Chaidari and then laid an ambush in Agia Paraskevi. After the murder with a Tokarev-type weapon, he disposed of the clothing and pistol in a rubbish bin and returned to Nafplio. To support his false alibi, he left his mobile phone with the Bulgarian accomplice.
The 14-year-old was used as an unwitting intermediary
The lifting of telephone confidentiality revealed a particularly sensitive aspect of the case: the accused were using the perpetrator's 14-year-old son as an intermediary in their communications. The child, according to the evidence in the case file, was completely unaware of the role he had been assigned.
The former wife committed suicide in prison
A few days after the Justice system ordered the provisional detention of the 43-year-old as a moral accomplice, she took her own life in June 2026 in her prison cell.
