Kavala: Arrests for drug trafficking involving health-related shop
A 24-year-old man, a Bahraini national, was spotted yesterday at midday at Kavala's passenger port, who was about to travel by ship to Thasos. During a check by Port Authority officials, he was found to be in possession of a quantity of raw cannabis in the form of dried flowers, weighing 3.9 grams.
The investigation that followed by the Central Port Authority of the city led to a 59-year-old Greek, owner of a health-related shop in the wider area. The older man allegedly sold the substances to the foreign national; he was located and taken into custody.
Following a search conducted at the 59-year-old's home, in the presence of a prosecutor's representative, the following were located and seized: 7 paper packages containing raw cannabis (48.8 grams), 11 plastic packages containing raw cannabis (531.7 grams), 20 hand-made cigarettes containing raw cannabis, 6 plastic packages containing alternative vapour products that contained cannabis oil (71.4 grams), as well as a precision electronic scale.
The findings are to be sent to Kavala's Chemical Services Department for further analysis.
