A 17-year-old teenager, a British national, is clinically dead following a fall from a first-floor hotel balcony on Souri Street in Chalandri. The incident occurred in the early hours of Friday, 3 July, shortly before 5:00 a.m.

The young man was being treated at the Red Cross hospital with serious injuries. According to information, at the time of the fall he was likely under the influence of substances, whilst the exact circumstances of the incident remain under investigation.

As part of the investigation, police proceeded to arrest a 37-year-old man. The arrested man works as an employee at a kiosk and is alleged to have provided alcoholic drinks to the 17-year-old and a friend after the two minors presented him with a forged driving licence to prove their age.

The 37-year-old faces charges of reckless endangerment resulting in death and for violating provisions concerning the sale of alcohol to minors.
