A 35-year-old man from Pakistan was taken into custody, accused of sexually harassing two children under 18 years of age in the Souda area of Chania. The incident is reported to have taken place the previous Saturday.
The suspect was referred to the Public Prosecutor through expedited procedures. The prosecuting officer filed serious charges against him, including attempted rape, attempted robbery, violation of sexual dignity, and unlawful possession of a knife.
By joint decision of the Prosecutor and Investigating Magistrate, the 35-year-old was deemed to be remanded in custody and transferred to Chania prison. He will remain in prison until the date of his main trial is set.
