A 43-year-old man from Skopje was transferred to the prosecutor in Chania as he is considered the prime suspect in the disappearance of Stavroula Leventaki. Blood belonging to the woman was found inside the house that he rented from her.

A 43-year-old man from Skopje was brought before the prosecutor in Chania, as authorities consider him the primary suspect in the disappearance of a 45-year-old woman. The missing woman, Stavroula Leventaki, had rented her house to the man in question.
According to a report by Philenews, red marks were found inside the flat on a television and floor, which were identified as blood belonging to the owner. Laboratory results are still awaited from samples taken from a mop and a vehicle.
The 43-year-old was initially arrested for cultivation of a cannabis plant that was found in a space he used together with an associate. The previous day he had disappeared from the morning and was found late at night. He told police that he was frightened because he had received threats from the woman's relatives.
During questioning that lasted all night, the suspect denied any involvement in the disappearance. He remained in an office of the local police station rather than in a cell, with police officers monitoring him continuously. He did not ask for water, did not sleep at all, and avoided eye contact with those present. When officers asked him questions, he answered with single-word phrases.
The brother of the missing woman expressed strong suspicions against the 43-year-old. The authorities' investigation continues on multiple fronts, whilst the case has now taken on the characteristics of a homicide.
