Pursuit in Aspropyrgos for stolen car — two arrests
Police officers from the DIAS unit arrested two people in Aspropyrgos following a pursuit, after discovering that the vehicle they were in had been stolen from the Aigaleo area, according to Newsit.gr.
The case began during a routine patrol, when DIAS officers observed a vehicle moving suspiciously and attempted to conduct a check. The 26-year-old driver ignored the audible signals to stop and accelerated in order to escape.
Police officers eventually managed to immobilise the vehicle. The subsequent check revealed that the car had been reported stolen on 12 September from the Aigaleo area.
Burglary tools were found and seized from the possession of the 46-year-old passenger, including screwdrivers and crowbars. Both arrested individuals — the 26-year-old driver and the 46-year-old passenger — were brought before the competent prosecutor.
