Cocaine weighing 26.8 kilograms found in building hideaway in Attica – new SDOE seizure
The SDOE service discovered 26.8 kilograms of cocaine in an underground space under construction at a residence in Attica, following the "Flowers of Evil" operation on 9 September.
New cocaine seizure in Attica from the same import network
Teams from the SDOE service of the Independent Authority of Public Revenue have discovered 26.8 kilograms of cocaine in an underground space of "hideaway" type in a building under construction in Attica, according to reports by Naftemporiki. The quantity was carefully concealed together with a hunting knife with a 21-centimetre blade and bullets of various calibres.
The investigation was conducted following the utilisation of information from the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) office at the United States Embassy in Athens. The information concerned the presence of cocaine in an adjacent storage space of a residence where, on 9 September 2026, a large quantity of narcotics had already been seized as part of the "Flowers of Evil" operation.
The teams conducted inspections at nearby warehouses and buildings under construction. In the courtyard owned by the same person who was leasing the residence to the criminal organisation, the cocaine was found, packaged in slabs ready for distribution, inside a large underground water tank and an underground "hideaway" space.
The markings that the slabs bore were identical to those on the moulds and presses that had been seized on 9 September, a fact which demonstrates that this concerns the same criminal network. According to the results of the investigation, the quantity constitutes part of a previous illegal importation of cocaine from Colombia, in the same manner: concealment within flower arrangements and flowers.
A case file was opened against the owner of the building under construction, who resides abroad and is being sought by the authorities.
