Operation against cocaine distribution in Peristeri and Ilion
Two individuals were arrested on the afternoon of Wednesday, 2 September in the wider Peristeri–Ilion area for possession and distribution of narcotic substances, according to In.gr. They are a 61-year-old woman and a 50-year-old man.
The operation was conducted by the Sub-Directorate for Drug Trafficking Prosecution of the Directorate for Combating Organised Crime, following the utilisation of information, police investigations and cross-referencing of data that confirmed the criminal activity of the 61-year-old.
The woman was located in an area of Ilion at the moment she had just handed over a quantity of narcotic substances to the 50-year-old. During the check, the buyer disposed of the quantity he had received, whilst a body search of the 61-year-old revealed an additional quantity of narcotics, divided into smaller portions ready for distribution.
During the searches — in the possession of both individuals, as well as at the 61-year-old's home — a total of the following were seized:
- 102.8 grams of cocaine
- 190 euros in cash
- 2 mobile phones
- an electronic precision scales
Both arrested individuals have previously come to the attention of the authorities for similar and other offences, according to Greek police. They will be brought before the competent prosecutor's office.
