Police discovered a large cannabis plantation on a forested area in Corinthia, with estimated proceeds for traffickers exceeding €500,000.

A large cannabis plantation containing 336 plants was discovered by police in a forested area of Corinthia. The harvest of the crop would have yielded a quantity of the narcotic substance estimated at 168 kilograms.
The profit for the traffickers is estimated to have exceeded €500,000. During the operation, police proceeded to seize equipment used for cultivation and monitoring of the plantation, including security cameras, irrigation systems, spades and provisions.
Also found and seized were 2,000 Albanian-origin euros, a finding which reinforces the assessment of authorities that an organised drug trafficking ring is behind the operation.
The investigation to identify and arrest those responsible is ongoing.
