Masked burglars in Agios Stefanos – owner drove them off with shouting
Four masked burglars attempted to break into a house in Agios Stefanos on the evening of 18 September. The owner chased them away by shouting from the balcony.
Four masked burglars attacked a residence in Agios Stefanos
Newsit.gr reported on video evidence presented by MEGA on Saturday 19 September, which recorded an attempted burglary at a residence in Agios Stefanos the previous evening.
At around 9:10 pm on 18 September, four perpetrators with their facial features covered climbed the stairs and attempted to breach the front door of the house using crowbars. At the same time, one of them tried to disable the alarm system, without success: the device fell and activated automatically.
The owner, who was in the bedroom, noticed movement on the balcony. She immediately went outside and began shouting: "Thieves, help, help, police, police!". The shouts proved sufficient to send the four perpetrators fleeing.
"I was inside the bedroom, I heard a loud commotion on the balcony and realised there were people there. I shouted for help to drive them away. After shouting I went outside — the thieves had entered the flat below; otherwise I would have come face to face with them with whatever consequences that might have," the woman told Alpha.
This is not the first time the particular house has been targeted by burglars. According to what was established, the masked perpetrators had already broken into the lower flat of the same building.
Investigation into the incident is continuing by the relevant authorities.
