In the images broadcast, Leventaki appears to be moving with empty hands. This detail stands in contrast with what some witnesses had reported, as well as with the perpetrator himself who has confessed. This particular element is considered crucial by investigators handling the case.
On the same day, the 43-year-old was brought before a prosecutor and investigating magistrate. The judicial proceedings, however, concerned a different charge: the unlawful cultivation of a cannabis plantation. This case had been pending before the case file for the homicide was even compiled.
The prosecuting authorities continue to gather evidence, take statements and evaluate audiovisual material. The aim is to fully clarify the circumstances under which the 45-year-old lost her life. The perpetrator remains in provisional detention.
