A naval cadet from Cyprus is being investigated in Greece following complaints that he was recording with a mobile phone inside women's sanitary facilities at a military academy.

An investigation is underway against a Cypriot naval cadet who is studying at the Permanent Non-Commissioned Officers Naval School (ΣMYN) in Greece. The young man is accused of attempting to record with his mobile phone inside women's sanitary facilities at the military academy.
The incident became known on 9 June and since then the case has been referred to the Piraeus Naval Court. According to information cited by the Greek military news outlet Armyvoice.gr, the cadet passed his device through a small window with the aim of recording images from the facilities used by women.
The complaints caused concern among the female students of the academy and led to an investigation by the competent military and judicial authorities. As part of the administrative investigation, a sworn administrative examination was ordered.
As confirmed to Cyprus Mail by Cyprus's Defence Ministry, the competent services have become aware of the case and are awaiting the completion of disciplinary and judicial proceedings.
As part of the administrative investigation, statements were taken from only two individuals: a second-year cadet connected to the complaint and the third-year cadet allegedly involved in the incident.
