Drug-addicted 15-year-old – infant victim bore 18 stab wounds
Fresh revelations continue to emerge in the case of the dead infant discovered inside a container and suitcase in a short-term rental flat in Kypseli, according to Newsit.gr. The victim was a boy aged just nine months, who bore a total of 18 knife wounds — three inflicted before death and 15 after death. The exact date and time of death could not be determined, as the body had been preserved in a freezer.
The 15-year-old daughter of the family, presented as the sister of the dead infant and who is pregnant, was transferred to a gynaecological clinic for examinations. There, doctors established that the minor girl is addicted to drugs. At the same time, it had already emerged that two of the family's three children suffer from sexually transmitted diseases.
Narcotic pills, cameras and other evidence were found in the flat and are being examined by authorities. The 15-year-old, other minor boys and a 26-year-old man claiming to be her partner were found there.
The property manager who alerted police
The property manager of the building played a decisive role in uncovering the case. He reportedly noticed that more people were living in the flat than had been declared during the tenancy. He also testified that he saw the 26-year-old hitting the pregnant 15-year-old, and he was also troubled by the presence of a child who, according to his statement, did not resemble the other family members.
His intervention led to a police investigation, during which a 43-year-old man, his 38-year-old partner, the 26-year-old were arrested and three minor children were found. Digital devices were seized and have been sent to forensic laboratories.
Claims of the 43-year-old
The 43-year-old reportedly told police that the infant died from natural causes and that he was afraid to proceed with its burial. He also claimed that when the baby was born at the maternity hospital, the infant was "replaced" and he was given another one that was "possessed by Satan".
Authorities are seeking answers regarding the time and manner of the infant's death, as well as the period during which the body remained in the freezer before being moved from one flat to another.
Criminal charges – appearance on Wednesday
The arrested persons are expected to appear before the investigating magistrate on Wednesday, 2 September. Regarding the drugs aspect, criminal charges have been brought for drug trafficking at felony level, as well as for failure to report the discovery of a dead body.
