A shop employee in Lagonissi restrained a man of Pakistani origin who allegedly attempted to sexually assault a young woman, while police officers who arrived at the scene arrested him.

A serious incident took place in the evening on Tuesday at a commercial shop on Kalivion Avenue in the Lagonissi area, causing disturbance among residents of the wider area.
According to the local website irafina.gr, a person of foreign origin attempted to sexually assault a young woman inside the shop. The incident was noticed by shop staff, who intervened decisively, restraining the suspected perpetrator and notifying the prosecuting authorities.
Police forces called to the scene proceeded to arrest the suspect. In the area during the incident were many passers-by, who are expected to testify as witnesses during the investigation.
The incident is being investigated by the competent services, with no official statement issued by the Greek police headquarters so far.
