Lesbos: 17 kilograms of hashish seized – two foreigners arrested
Police on Lesbos arrested a 56-year-old man and a 51-year-old foreign woman with a total of 17 kilograms of hashish, 15 of which were buried in a field.

The Drug Prosecution Department of the Prosecution and Crime Investigation Directorate of Mytilene proceeded on Sunday to arrest two foreigners on Lesbos, charged with possession and distribution of narcotic substances, according to In.gr.
The first arrestee, aged 56, was spotted by police moving in a passenger vehicle on the Mytilene–Kalloni road. During the vehicle inspection, four nylon packages containing raw cannabis were found hidden, with a total weight of 2,123 grams.
Another 15 kilograms buried in a field
In the course of the investigation, a location in western Lesbos was identified where the two accused had concealed 36 additional nylon packages of hashish, with a total weight of 15,414 grams. These packages were buried in the ground or covered by dense vegetation.
The 51-year-old was also arrested as part of the same operation. According to police, the two individuals jointly possessed the narcotic substances with the intention of selling them to third parties in exchange for payment.
Search of residence – 8,000 euros seized
In the presence of a judicial officer, a search was carried out at the residence of the two arrestees in the same area. There, 8,000 euros in cash were found and seized, a significant number of empty nylon packages, and an electronic precision scale.
Additionally, 70 euros that the 56-year-old had in his possession at the time of his apprehension were seized, along with two mobile telephones and the passenger vehicle that was used as a means of committing the illegal activities.
The preliminary investigation work and related searches were conducted by the Drug Prosecution Department of the Prosecution and Crime Investigation Directorate of Mytilene.
