Robbery of 74-year-old in Agios Panteleimon: arrest of foreign couple
A foreign couple, aged 19 and 23, stole a gold chain from a 74-year-old in Agios Panteleimon. Both were arrested a few minutes later.
Arrest of couple for robbery against elderly man in Agios Panteleimon
According to Dikastiko.gr, a 74-year-old fell victim to a robbery in Agios Panteleimon when two foreigners forcibly took the gold chain from around his neck while he was walking in the street.
The perpetrators, a 19-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman, approached the elderly man and greeted him with gestures before grabbing the jewellery. Neighbours who witnessed the incident immediately notified Immediate Response.
Police officers from a patrol vehicle arrested the 23-year-old a few minutes after the incident. Subsequently, officers from the DIAS unit located the 19-year-old a short distance from the robbery scene.
Both were taken to the Crime Investigation and Detection Department of Agios Panteleimon, where they were identified as the perpetrators. Prosecution was initiated against them for robbery in joint perpetration and they were referred to the prosecutor.
