SYRIZA officials visit wounded anti-fascist in Elefsina
Officials from SYRIZA visited the home of the 32-year-old anti-fascist who was severely stabbed in the thigh by neo-fascists in Elefsina today, according to In.gr. The incident, which resulted in the serious injury of the victim, occurred on Thursday afternoon, 8 October 2026.
The solidarity visit was carried out by SYRIZA's Labour Sector Head Dionysios Temponeras and Justice Deputy Sector Head Christina Tsagli. The party officials expressed their support for the young man, who, as they stated, "did not fear and did not falter for a moment while defending life itself and democracy".
In their statement, SYRIZA officials linked the incident to the broader political situation: thirteen years after the murder of Pavlos Fysas and just days after the release of Kasidiaris, "the ambitious successors of the criminal organisation Golden Dawn think it is time to crawl out of their holes again", they said.
From Elefsina, they sent a clear message:
"The democratic world is here. We do not forget. We will put our body and soul on the line so that we never have another victim from fascism. This country knows. This country has memory. We are here to defend democracy and History. We do not fear you scum. Not one step back!"
