A man who exercised at the same gym as the 50-year-old police officer in Drama spoke about the characteristics of the perpetrator, revealing that the man had become addicted to substances that enhance muscle mass.

The witness had known the couple for approximately ten years, as they would meet at the same gym. He described the woman as an exceptionally well-mannered and calm personality, entirely opposite to her husband.

According to what he reported, the police officer had consumed prohibited substances for an extended period in order to increase his physical strength and endurance. This practice had resulted in serious mood disturbances. After each training session, the 50-year-old displayed outbursts of rage and aggression that were evident to those who observed him closely.

"He was giving off a dangerous look, it was obvious," the witness stated, explaining that the change in his character had begun to become noticeable over approximately the last two years. Prior to that period, he did not display comparable behaviour.

Despite the internal tensions he exhibited at the gym, the police officer maintained an image of propriety in the rest of his social circle. The witness noted that the man's aggression had escalated recently, something that had concerned him.

Approximately one month before the crime, the two men had encountered each other by chance. The witness described the police officer's look as disturbing. "He seemed wild, his eyes were gleaming," he stated.

He himself admitted that, despite the negative changes he observed, he did not believe that his acquaintance would reach the point of taking human life. "But with steroids, nothing can be ruled out," he added.
