A 50-year-old man from Austria was arrested in Longa, Messenia following an operation by authorities that uncovered cannabis plants in pots and quantities of narcotic substances.

A 50-year-old man, an Austrian national, was arrested by police in Messenia following an operation carried out on Friday. Authorities had received information concerning illegal cultivation in the Longa area and proceeded to conduct a search at the suspect's rural residence.
In the yard of the house, police officers discovered seven cannabis plants in pots, with heights reaching 1.5 metres. Three of the plants were already dry, while the other four were uprooted and seized by authorities.
Additionally, during the search, 6.1 grammes of hashish and half a gramme of cocaine were found in his possession, which were also seized.
A file was opened against the foreign national for violation of the law on narcotic substances. He was subsequently taken before the prosecutor.
