Irini Murtzoukou was transferred from Korydallos to Elaionas prison in Thebes after the doctor from Kolonaki was remanded in custody for the death of George Mazonakis.

Murtzoukou at Elaionas – doctor's husband in VIP wing of Korydallos
Irini Murtzoukou left Korydallos and was transferred to Elaionas prison in Thebes, according to Newsbeast. The prison transfer is directly connected to the remand in custody of the doctor from Kolonaki, who is accused of the death of singer George Mazonakis.
Initially, it was planned for the doctor to be transferred to a cell adjacent to Murtzoukou's, for security reasons. The authorities' concerns focused on the fact that the detainees were admirers of Mazonakis, who in 2023, on his own initiative, had sung for them inside the prison.
Ultimately, it was deemed preferable for the doctor to occupy Murtzoukou's cell, in the infirmary of the prison. As a result, Murtzoukou was transferred to Elaionas, as reported by ANT1 news bulletin.
The doctor's husband, who was also remanded in custody at Korydallos, was placed in wing F, known as the VIP wing. Upon arriving at his cell, he ended the hunger strike he had declared, took a bath and is said to have stated that he feels safe.
In the same VIP wing are also the two police officers accused of the murder of the 20-year-old in Argos last July.
