Drugs and mobile phones found in Nea Aylon Prison cells – five inmates arrested
Five inmates were arrested for drug trafficking at Nea Aylon Prison. Cocaine, cannabis and four mobile phones were seized.

Operation in three cells at Nea Aylon Prison
According to news247.gr, a police operation was conducted during the afternoon hours of Monday, 14 September at the Special Correctional Facility in Nea Aylon, by the Organised Crime Confrontation Directorate.
Police officers from the Drug Prosecution Sub-Directorate, with the assistance of EKAM and in the presence of a prosecuting magistrate, carried out a search in three cells. The following were found and seized: 1.3 grammes of cocaine, 2.5 grammes of processed cannabis in "chocolate" form, 2.1 grammes of raw cannabis, as well as four mobile telephone devices.
Five inmates were arrested, who, according to the preliminary investigation, were jointly trafficking drugs to other detainees. All have previously drawn the attention of the authorities for similar and other offences, and were referred to the competent prosecutor.
During the operation, a correctional facility employee was also found outside the facility to possess a makeshift cigarette containing 0.5 grammes of raw cannabis. Following notification of the competent prosecutor, he was released, while the relevant case file will be submitted to the appropriate authorities.
