New search at Mazonakis's home – what the two remanded doctors stated
Police seized digital data from the singer's home. The two accused doctors outlined what happened at the Carneades clinic.

Digital data seizures and new testimony in Mazonakis death investigation
Police conducted a fresh search at the home of Giorgos Mazonakis under the examining magistrate's orders, seizing digital data from the singer's devices, according to Ethnos. The singer's mother, Klio, was present during the search, as reported by ERT.
Meanwhile, new details have emerged from the testimony of the two remanded doctors before the examining magistrate concerning what took place at the Carneades clinic.
"I reacted immediately": Ioanna Gaka's account
The 56-year-old doctor Ioanna Gaka described her actions from the moment the singer collapsed. "I immediately placed an oxygen mask on him and started shouting for my husband. I don't know if the monitor had an alarm function. I shouted at the nurse to prepare adrenaline for me and asked her to call Ilias immediately," she stated in her testimony.
The doctor said she did not know which of the nurses responded, and subsequently she herself began cardiopulmonary resuscitation. "I was trained in surgery, so I knew how to react to an emergency. I reacted immediately," she emphasised. According to her testimony, her 58-year-old husband arrived at once and also continued CPR. "Everything happened within a minute," she maintained, adding that adrenaline was available at the clinic and that she herself administered it.
Regarding the delay in calling the ambulance service (EKAB), the accused stated that "in the panic that ensued it took approximately five minutes". "We did what we had to do. And even if we had been in the hospital we would have done exactly the same thing in the same timeframe. As soon as we saw that he was not responding well, we immediately called EKAB," she said.
Cardiac arrest and the role of cocaine according to the doctor
When asked what caused Mazonakis's cardiac arrest, Gaka stated that she could not answer with certainty. "In any case, the forensic medical report has not provided answers on this either," she noted.
However, she connected the arrest to a specific condition: "There is a condition, unstable angina Prinzmetal, which is associated with cocaine use, and it could explain the cardiac arrest that Mazonakis suffered," she argued.
Regarding the defibrillator, the accused said she switched it on and that it showed asystole. "The EKAB defibrillator showed the same thing, as did the 'Elpis' hospital defibrillator," she stated. She added: "An organism can go directly into asystole. That is exactly what cardiac arrest is."
Regarding the transfer of the singer by the paramedics, Gaka maintained that it was carried out with a chair rather than a stretcher: "When EKAB arrived, they took him with a chair and not with a stretcher, as they should have so as not to interrupt CPR".
Regarding the fact that she did not accompany Mazonakis in the ambulance, Gaka disputed the paramedic's testimony: "What the paramedic said is not true. I got into the ambulance first and they told me to get out because obviously there was no space". When finally asked about the deletion of appointments from iCloud, she stated: "I have nothing to do with administrative matters".
"I had nothing to offer": Theodoropoulos's testimony
Ilias Theodoropoulos stated in his testimony that the defibrillator at the clinic had never been tested by him. "I believe that Ms Gaka's defibrillator was functioning, but we did not use it because of asystole. I have never tested it. I don't know if Ms Gaka had checked it either," he said.
Regarding his decision not to follow the patient to the hospital, the accused stated: "I was not asked to accompany the patient in the ambulance. I was not the patient's attending physician to go to the hospital. I had nothing further to offer. Nor did Ms Gaka have anything additional to offer to the Elpis staff". According to him, the paramedics had the telephone details of both doctors.
Theodoropoulos also addressed the clinic's equipment, asserting that his wife uses the machines "strictly within recommended indications". Regarding the non-registration of the device with the National Organisation for Medicines (EOF), he stated that there is no representative in Greece and that Gaka had procured it taking into account approvals in countries such as Germany and Austria, as well as notification to the Medical Association of Attica (ISA).
"I am being slandered": Theodoropoulos on public opinion
Theodoropoulos presented himself as a victim of public attack. "I am being slandered, insulted, abused, my personal life is being dragged through the mud. My children are exposed and being psychologically harmed," he said. He also referred to the stance of institutional authorities: the political head of the Health Ministry characterised him, according to him, as a "fraudster", whilst the ISA imposed a six-month suspension of his clinic's operation before the judicial proceedings were completed.
