A significant development has emerged in the case of a mother and son's death in Aigio, as the forensic examination report from the Hellenic Police's criminological laboratories is almost complete and its findings have raised new questions.
According to information published by Protothema, no DNA trace or fingerprints from the Italian national who had been involved in the investigation were found on the evidence items examined. This particular finding overturns some of the assessments that had been formed regarding the case.
The case concerns the death of a mother and her son, who were found dead in their home in Aigio. Authorities had focused their investigation on the Italian; however, the new laboratory data do not connect the specific man to the evidence collected by police officers from the scene of the incident.
Meanwhile, the investigation has brought to light unknown genetic material which cannot be matched to any of the individuals who had been considered by the prosecuting authorities.
