A child aged 3.5 was found moving alone on a pavement in Arta, resulting in the arrest of his father and grandfather, according to Newsit.gr.
The child was discovered by a passing woman, who immediately notified the police. Police officers who rushed to the scene found the child with no one accompanying him.
During investigations in the area, the authorities located the child's grandfather. It emerged that his attention had been diverted, resulting in the child being left unattended on the street. The grandfather was arrested on the spot for child endangerment.
Shortly afterwards, the child's father presented himself voluntarily at the police station and was arrested for the same offence.
The case file formed by the Department for the Investigation and Prosecution of Crimes in Arta will be forwarded to the Public Prosecutor's Office of the District Court of Arta.
