Triantópoulos before Special Court: PASOK demands government reckoning
Chrístos Triantópoulos is referred to the Special Court for breach of duty — a misdemeanour — as part of the so-called "cover-up" case in the file concerning the Tempe tragedy with 57 deaths. This was reported by In.gr.
This development follows the proposal by the PASOK Parliamentary Group for the establishment of a preliminary investigation committee, based on the file that had been sent to Parliament.
"It all started with PASOK's proposal to establish a Preliminary Investigation Committee, which New Democracy hastily closed down in order to let him off easy," said Panagiótis Doudonís, ruling majority MP of the Movement. "However, the question is one: who is responsible for the cover-ups now, Mr Florídi? Who is responsible for the cover-ups, ladies and gentlemen of the government?"
According to In.gr, the ruling is by law final and irreversible, excluding any possibility of appealing through legal remedies.
