An extensive operation was carried out at Agios Stefanos Prison in Patras, aimed at locating illegal substances. The operation was conducted late in the evening of the previous day, with the participation of a large police team, correctional staff and a prosecutor.

The checks focused on detainees' cells. During the operation, various quantities of psychotropic substances were identified and seized. Specifically, doses of methamphetamine, synthetic cannabis as well as pharmaceutical tablets were found.

The prosecuting authorities proceeded with the arrest of six people. Among those arrested are five foreign nationals and one Greek citizen. The charges they face differ from case to case. Three of them are charged with drug trafficking, two with simple possession and one with possession of a mobile phone.

The presence of a prosecutor during the operation guarantees the legality of the procedures. The arrested persons are expected to be brought before the competent prosecutor.
